Liputan6.com, Jakarta: The high number of Indonesian workers (TKI) which carries the death penalty in foreign countries made the Deputy Speaker of the House Priyo Budi Santoso dumbfounded. Priyo said, as many as 218 people overseas workers under sentence of death. "This figure is staggering!" shocking words in the newsroom House, Jakarta, Friday (14/10).
Of that amount, shocking expose, migrant workers in Malaysia are under sentence of death as many as 151 people. Then in Saudi Arabia as much as 43 people. In China 22 people, then in Singapore by two people.
In Malaysia, Priyo explained, mostly threatened for allegedly committing a crime of murder and drug trafficking. While in Saudi Arabia from 43, as many as five people just waiting to be beheaded.
While in China, more shocking, than 22 people, nine of whom had been sentenced to death. "In China there are interesting because of endeavor, from a death sentence changed to life imprisonment, and changed again to 20 years in prison for good behavior," said Priyo. (AIS)
